NCI Nutrition Certification Review | Is The Nutritional Coaching Institute Worth It? | NCI Vs PN
What's up guys! Jeff from Sorta Healthy here! In today's video we'll be reviewing the level 1 applied nutrition coach certification from NCI, or the Nutritional Coaching Institute. Over the years I've gotten a lot of questions about NCI and their certifications. Truth be told, I didn't really know too much about the Nutritional Coaching Institute until recently. What did I think about NCI in general? What do NCI certifications/courses cost? Was the NCI level one nutrition certification worth it? How does this NCI certification compare to Precision Nutrition's level 1 certification? I answer all of those questions, and a bunch of others too. Ultimately, there were some things I really liked about this NCI course, but there we're also some issues, mainly involving pricing, that I had with the organization as well. Let me know any thoughts that you have on NCI, the Nutritional Coaching Institute, down in the comments! I want to hear what you guys think as well! I Need Your Help
What's up guys, Jeff from Sorta Healthy here. Unfortunately, today's video is not like any other video I've ever made. This channel, Sorta Healthy Trainer Education, has been hit with the invalid traffic bug. Many creators have been hit with this same bug over the previous months, and it can have devastating effects (discussed in the video). My plans in dealing with are to keep doing my thing on here, I will NOT abandon the trainer education cause. That said, I will be diversifying what I do in terms of content creation. I have created a second YouTube channel, and this is something that I've been working on for a long, long time now. That channel is called Sorta Healthy Lifestyle and the first video on that channel can be found here: https://youtu.be/vBfPTtyfYf4 It's easily the most ambitious project we've ever made, and I hope you guys will check it out! We've also upped our presence on other platforms too! Jeff, at 33 years old finally has an Instagram and TikTok! Lol, its about time! We'll be posting more fitness, coaching, and lifestyle content on there, but in a shorter format of course! Personal Training On Cruise Ships?! | A Day In The Life Of A Personal Trainer On A Cruise Ship
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a personal trainer or fitness instructor on a cruise ship? Honestly, this is something I've been curious about for a while. Luckily, Alexis and I decided to book a cruise. Vinit (Insta. below) and Blessing are two trainers who currently work on the Royal Caribbean ship, Adventure of The Seas. Alexis and I were fortunate to not only do a personal training session with these two, but to also ask them a bunch of questions about their lives. In watching this video, you'll get to know these guys, and see them train us as well! Some questions we asked Vinit and Blessing in this video are: "What is a typical day like for a trainer on this ship?" "How long are you on the boat for, before going home?" "What are the hardest parts of working on a cruise ship?" "How long have you been doing personal training on cruise ships?" "Do you do more one-on-one or group sessions?" "What do you guys do for fun on the ship?" "How do you maintain the trainer lifestyle on the boat?" These guys gave us answers to those questions, and many others too. Like we said, they also guided us though an effective workout, which was much appreciated! Thanks for the love and support guys! We really appreciate it! NASM Open Book Exam Vs NASM Proctored Exam | Is A Non-Proctored NASM Test A BAD Thing For Trainers?!
What are your thoughts on the new open book exam from NASM? Is it a good, bad, or neutral thing for the training industry? Do you plan on taking it yourself? Make sure to let me know in the video comments! I appreciate having your perspective as well! In case you didn't know, NASM has recently released a new option for completing their personal training program. This new option is a 100 question, open book exam that will give you, what NASM calls a "certificate," vs what you get for completing their proctored exam, which is a CPT "certification." Does that sound a little shady? yeah, probably. This "certificate" that you get from completing the open book exam, is not NCCA accredited. Personally, I could care less if a certification is NCCA accredited, but many gyms and insurance companies do not feel that way. A significant number of places will only hire you with an NCCA accredited certification, which has left some ISSA trainers in a tough spot upon completing their certification. (ISSA is also not NCCA accredited) Speaking of ISSA, I think it's pretty clear that NASM's main reason for offering this certification is a direct response to ISSA. ISSA has grown in popularity significantly over the last 5 years, and in my opinion, a significant amount of that growth comes from the fact that their test is open book. Anyways, in this video we discuss all of the previously mentioned stuff in more detail, and we break down the NASM non-proctored or open book exam vs the NASM proctored exam in more detail as well. Thanks for the support everyone! It's very appreciated! Do THIS To Collect Payments And Schedule Personal Training Clients | Google Calendar, Square, Vagaro
For those interested in Vagaro, our top scheduling and payment collecting software for personal training studio owners, go here and you'll get a month for free: https://www.vagaro.com/signup?promocode=000095192852 What's up guys, Jeff from Sorta Healthy here! Today we'll be chatting about scheduling and collecting payments from personal training clients. Initially, I wasn't sure that this was a great topic for a video. Scheduling personal training clients and collecting payments aren't exactly the most exciting parts of the job. The more I thought about it though, the more this topic made sense. Simply put, if you can't get paid or schedule clients effectively as a trainer, you wont be able to make a living. Of course, this is most true for self employed trainers, but much of what we talk about in this video will be applicable to commercial gym trainers too. We spend a lot of time in this video comparing payment and scheduling applications. Some of the software covered includes Mindbody, Google Calendar, Wellness Living, Vagaro, Square, Stripe, and Acuity Scheduling. We also cover some good rules of thumb for any trainer, when it comes to accepting payments and scheduling clients. Depending on where you are in your personal training career, certain apps and strategies may make more sense, but we've got that covered too. Thanks for the continued support everyone! Garage Personal Training Gym Review & Pros And Cons | Is A Garage Personal Training Studio Worth It?
What's up guys, Jeff from Sorta Healthy here! In this weeks video we'll be discussing garage personal training studios or garage gyms. What are the pros and cons of having a garage training studio? Who should consider starting a garage fitness facility, and who shouldn't? These are all questions that we aim to answer in this video today. For better or worse, many trainers tend to glorify having a garage studio, which to some extent, who can blame them? Having one of these garage spaces can be a pretty cool thing, but there are some less often discussed downsides to that lifestyle as well. As always, we try to keep it real and tell both sides of the story as best as we can. There are some real garage personal training studios featured in this video, and those studios we're originally shared on the subreddit r/personal training. If you're a trainer looking to up your game, that subreddit can be a useful place to explore. Thanks for the continued support everyone! We love ya! -Jeff and Alexis
