#BodybyBagels

If you've been listening to the Sorta Healthy Podcast (...if you're not, you should be...), you've heard us talking about the #bodybybagelschallenge that we started a few weeks ago.


The term #bodybybagels was coined from an Instagram post where Alexis was talking about having no food rules and the rest is history. While Alexis originally thought she was just clever (and wanted shirts made..), we decided to actually make it into something. We enjoy a good challenge and thus, the #bodybybagelschallenge was created!


When we think of #bodybybagels, it means a multitude of different things. First and most importantly, we stand by the idea that there is no perfect diet to get you the body you want. Keto, low carb, Atkins, the grapefruit diet, etc., all work, but not one of them is the answer for weight loss. In order to lose weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit, meaning that you eat less than you burn. Honestly, it doesn't really matter how you do that--as long as you do. Same goes for maintaining or gaining--eat as much as you burn, maintain. Eat more, gain.


Our second point in our challenge is that you don't have to eliminate all the foods you love in order to lose weight. We love bagels --we also love ice cream, a drink here-and-there, and trying new foods--and we enjoy those things while maintaining our size (as that's generally our goal...).


So, what's the challenge? We're eating [at least] one bagel a day for 30 days (*update: may extend to 50) and we're going to lose weight.


Yup. That's it. We will include at least one bagel in some way, shape or form every day. Cream cheese, butter, egg + cheese, sandwich bagels, pizza bagels, YOU NAME IT.

and track our macros to make sure we aren't eating too much.

DONE.

SIMPLE.
