Do you ever wonder how you should handle going out to a pizza restaurant when you’re trying to stay healthy or even lose weight?
I’ve got three strategies for you to follow to keep those pounds coming off while still going out and having some fun.
We put these to the test at Pesto’s restaurant, bar, and pizzeria, which is the new place in Southington, CT.
Strategy number one, only drink water or diet soda. When going out there is going to be more calories in certain things than you’d expect, so don’t add any extra in the form of your drinks.
2. Get a side salad
3. Have 2 to 3 slices of normal sized pizza, or 3 to 4 slices of a smaller pizza in addition to some of that salad.
If you’re trying to lose weight, you’ll probably be on the lower end of this scale and if you’re trying to maintain your weight, you might be able to get away with a little more.
You know you did it right if you leave the restaurant feeling satisfied, but not overly full.
Pesto’s was a better than expected local spot with some crispy slices.
We liked it, which is high praise since Alexis isn’t a big pizza person, which really is a crazy opinion for her to have.
